September Fades

This week will be a light week for singing, good time for voice rest. Last week I connected with a remarkable flute player---versatile, creative, and skillful. Check out his website at www.tapperandbridges.com. I'm looking forward to $$$ conditions allowing me to return to the studio to work on my "Just Love" project, and when I do, I'll ask Steve Tapper join me for flute tracks. And the price of gas will go up once more--I think oil companies need a good injection of generosity of spirit. More critical is the lesson that Katrina and Rita have brought: are we going to seek and promote more alternative energy sources in the future? End any dangerous overdependence on petro chemical products? I keep thinking about the tobacco industry and how they have pressed on, in spite of the obvious hazards of smoking. When a corporation feels it must continue to earn profits, in spite of the obvious danger of its products, then society is forced to protest. Elyse
